Japan Journey
A land of contrasts – where ancient shrines meet neon-lit skyscrapers, and peaceful tea ceremonies coexist with bustling city life. Japan is clean, safe, and remarkably efficient, with friendly, reserved locals and one of the world’s best transport systems. Don’t miss the outstanding cuisine – it’s truly part of the journey (my top 10 favorite Food in Japan.

Travel-Tip: Save Money with the Japan Rail Pass
If you're planning to travel across Japan by train, the Japan Rail Pass is a total game changer. You can get unlimited travel on JR trains (including many Shinkansen bullet trains) for 7, 14, or 21 days – and it’s only available before entering Japan (or at limited places once inside).
Some facts about Japan
Order is everything: People queue politely even at bus stops. On escalators: stand on the left, walk on the right (except in Osaka – there it’s reversed).
A bow goes a long way: Skip the handshake. A small bow is the standard way to greet or show appreciation.
Cash still rules: Card payments are not yet universal. Many restaurants, temples, and even train stations accept cash only.
Silence on public transport: Keep phones on silent and avoid calls on buses and trains. Speaking quietly is a cultural norm.
Tipping? Don’t: Tipping is not expected and may even be refused. Great service is part of the culture.
Pointing is rude: Don’t point at people or objects – use your whole hand or gesture subtly instead.
Toilets are high-tech: Expect heated seats, built-in bidets, and even background music. Intimidating at first – then addictive.
Convenience stores are life savers: Known as conbini, they’re open 24/7 and offer surprisingly good food, plus everything from toiletries to SIM cards.
Try capsule hotels: A futuristic sleep pod might sound odd, but it’s a budget-friendly, clean, and unique experience.
Vending machines everywhere: From hot coffee to umbrellas and cold noodles – you’ll never be far from a machine.
